Lately, I have been really diving into the idea of leaving my comfort zone.

During the summer months I get to split most of my "free" time between my beautiful family and alongside some ridiculously incredible band directors teaching the SASi drum major camps. For some reason I have always been someone who tries and forms relationships with all the different people I encounter in our field. I know this is a "well duh" type of observation, but I think it is important to think about how the investment we make in the people around us develop into relationships that allow ourselves amazing personal growth.

When I think of summer, a whole list of experiences, emotions, relationships, vacations, and organizations I've been a part of come to to front of my mind. I married my best friend during the summer. I watched my beautiful son's birth during the summer.
